Nature from a different angle -
Canoe safari Svartadalen

Paddle your canoe through Svartans unique system of waterways. Experience the light, the breadth and the tranquillity of the waterways. Sitting in a canoe, slowly and quietly gliding through the water brings you closer to Nature, closer to the animals and closer to yourself.

We pass by cultivated landscape, spacious hay meadows with their old hay barns, the larger lakes lying between the forests and the farmlands. When the forest ends at the river the sense of a great wilderness becomes palpable. There are no sounds of traffic or other sounds of civilization. We step onto land on a beautiful flat rock outcrop and light a fire, fish, cook and enjoy the view over the glistening surface of the lake.

This is not intended as a strenuous exercise apart from normal canoe paddling. The emphasis here is on experiencing Nature to its fullest extent. We paddle the canoes from Flackebo lake to lake Hällsjön in Svartadalen, during the journey we land on a beautiful outcrop of flat rocks where there is the possibility to swim, fish and relax.

This is the home of the Beaver, and on request we can pass by the Beaver's cabin. Moose and Red deer can be seen grazing along the edges of the lakes. Grass snakes, Mink and several species of Bat can also be seen. The predominating fish are Pike, Perch, but also Bream and Tench.
